if we hired one to represent WE THE PEOPLE?!! I've been thinking about this. It seems that everybody with a lobbyist and a big pocketbook gets what they want from congress.
Maybe we could all pool what money we have left and hire a lobbyist to represent US. At least then we'd have some representation.
Lol. I personally paid a lobbyist JUST to get assured a right to present my position on an issue. $12,000 but we did win and gave my business a little job security until the next legislative session and they will try to pass bad legislation again. Government does NOT represent the “little guy” it’s a “pay to play” racket.
Out of curiosity, how was the fee determined? Did they just tell you they wanted a flat fee, or how did that work? Thanks. Btw, it's horrible you had to do that at all, but I'm glad it worked out for you. At least temporarily.
You could do a crowd funded Lobby group. Then get on issues that have the most united support across the Nation. I'd start with affordable food in every State for every child. You could create a central kitchen that employed a swath of the people in the City. Have a delivery system that employed kids on the day time and adults in the evening.
No
If someone is willing to spew nonsense and brown nose for money, there's nothing you can offer him that the people who print the money can't match.
There's no way to get a guy you can trust, because every lobbyist who is anywhere near effective will not bite small fish.
And then, even if you find one lobbyist with connections dumb enough to take your money, he'd be dead within a week.
It's a mafia-led organization. Lobbyists are fronts for mafia schmoozers wiggling themselves in the ears of politicians, wining and dining them. Treat them like the mafiosos they are, and you'll realize there's nothing to gain from signing up with a Don Corleone wannabe.
It wouldn't be a small fish, it would be people from the whole country. It's obviously (I thought, obviously, anyway) a thought experiment. I just think it's interesting that our congress, which was supposed to be for we the people, has become the congress of the corporations and of course, their own self interests. "We" hire them to work for us, but they work for those who pay them far better than we do. So maybe we just need to get their attention by hiring our own lobbyist.
I think its interesting that people are so excited about winning their school board. They didnt go far enough. Momma bear ate her meat and went to sleep.
All elected officials have a surety bond just do the same thing these people did with the school board but on your city council, state reps and so forth. You can even print out the papers on your couch. Hell read about it and post this info in every post you see. Make it so people will see it in the msgs of every post they read. To the point they either ignore it or decide to do it. All you have to do is then go and speak your voice tell them do this or ill call in your bond and serve them (think of it like toilet papering an assholes house, or leaving a burning bag of shit on their porch) Get some of your friends and they will be x3 (or more depending on how many people do this in your city or state) the fines if they dont comply. Grab your balls and do something about it.

How to get the Surety Bonds:
Send a request letter directly to the public official’s email address – in many states they are each independently liable if they DO NOT provide this information upon request.
Call the Treasurer and find out who the bond company is – then Contact the bond company and they will send you a copy.
Get a copy of the bond at the probate office, which is where they’re kept according to many state laws.
Contact the Sheriff and ask him to go down to the district office with you – if he won’t help, try to go after his bond, once you have it, demand that he help you.
Ask constitutional sheriffs who they are bonded with and then call the company and request the bonds for every sheriff in your state. Sheriffs are MORE POWERFUL than you think. They have complete jurisdiction over your county, even over the Police Departments.
Call the State Board of Education and tell them you want to start a new school, ask them if you need to be licensed, bonded and insured and get the list of companies you can use to set that up. Most states only have 1 or 2 bond companies. Then call each company and request the bonds under FOIA for every district.
Start a group in your state in order to share paperwork and strategies. These companies are experts at playing cat and mouse. If you don’t ask for this information with specific language they feel they are not violating the law by denying your request. But once you find a strategy and verbiage that works it’s likely to work throughout your state.
Some bonds are burred in insurance policies, If you get the policy, but you don't know how to read it contact us via our website and we will help.
