Honestly, I am not sure I believe they are the only state that fixed their election system. It was to make DeSantis look like a super hero, so they could take Trump out of the picture. Whether DeSantis is in the know or not, I do not know. But I am guessing they did this on purpose.
Much like Lake is hopefully going to do, the first the DeSantis did when he took office was work on the election process. He didn’t do it alone. The legislature was a big part of it.
That’s one thing overlooked in all of the praise DeSantis gets is that he’s got a overwhelmingly Republican legislature and a conservative court. That makes thing easier to get done.
