The "real" Looking Glass device doesn't allow time travel, per se. It displays different possible futures given an input of variables. However, following the problem date of December 21, 2012, it would only display a single future -- no matter the variables presented. There were two possible futures, named "Timeline 1" and "Timeline 2." Timeline 1 was the only result following 12/21/2012.
