Dan Friedman runs FTX from the shadows, and Bankman-Fried is the patsy who was merely the public face of FTX.

It’s funny how FRIED is short for FRIEDman. And BANK MAN is an awfully convenient name for the guy who’s the public face of a fractional reserve scheme… a scheme that operates like our fractional reserve BANKS.
