What is this thread all about?
Just a place for general discussion. A place to unload whats on your mind and talk about anything - personal, health, help needed, achievements, daily highs and daily lows, theories, predictions and what have you.
Does not need to be Q related.
Do any of you also wake up with a song in your head you haven't heard in years? I've been waking up to Southern Gospel songs I grew up hearing. Maybe it's something due to my dreams I'm unaware of the connection. That's been happening to me lately. And during my daily Bible reading, the verses on which some songs are based on start running through.
It doesn't take much for me to get an earworm, either. Sometimes just a word will trigger my mental music catalog and get that song going.
Right now it's My Rival by Steely Dan. I don't even know where that came from.
All the time...it's a lot of fun actually to revisit all the wonderful music I have loved over these many years. Memorized scripture always pops up also...very profitable to have taken the time to commit verses to memory. My crazy filing system works 24/7...never a dull moment.
Hahaha! I can relate!!
Moved from the north to the south over 30 years ago and Southern Gospel was one the the gems I embraced. I play the piano and Anthony Burger was a favorite and I played for a church quartet that sang a lot of the Cathedrals music...pure joy. And there's nothing like all those scripture songs popular in the 80's and 90's..what a great way to learn scripture. What Southern gospel is your favorite? Add a little gospel swing or blues and I love it!!
Anthony Burger was amazing! Gold City, with Brian Free and Ivan Parker, was my favorite quartet. I think it formed my love for harmonies. The message has deeper meaning for me now, of course. The Cathedrals were another one I enjoyed.
