Jesus brought it down to 2 real commandments so normies could keep up and they still don't get it.
The 10 were an authoritarian response to a society far worse than ours. Some degree of common sense in them, but some of them are ridiculous. My wife has awful parents, "honoring" them in the sense both the commandments and the new testament would be rather absurd
Or for example murder..? I refuse to see a soldier as a heathen sinner for doing his job. Sure, you can say it is not literal but the commandments WERE literal and there is no way around it. I like the prophecy in the old testament but Abrahamic law and doctrine are absolute man made BS
Originally it said thou shall not murder. Killing is at times necessary.
Killing and murder can be two different things.
In fact we have no idea what "the original" was. The bible is a collection of many scripts written at many different times over thousands of years by many different people. Also they were written in many different languages - none of which were English. Some of the texts are real, some are fake news of the time.
Memes like this one try to cover up this uncertainty by insisting on using "thou, thy" obsolete English which is only a few hundred years old at best.
