Been going through it for over a year now. My ex committed adultery and fraud, but due to IL’s no-fault laws, I can’t use any of that in court. I get punished instead by having to pay her spousal maintenance and all that. Just like the rest of the judicial system, there’s no justice. I know this is personal to me, but I see stuff like this happening to so many people, and I strongly feel that the attacks on the nuclear family and the feminism crowd have a lot to do with it. The system rewards immorality and criminality, and punishes those who do the right things.

Same thing happened to my sister in Ohio. Her now Ex-spouse waited until the children turned 18 and then filed for divorce. He got the condo, the rental property, the trailer, the boat, his financial account. She got the house, which probably back then was worth $150,000-$175,000, if that 28 years ago. He was delusional, saying how he “took care of her”. She was the wage earner. He was a sometimes Lake Erie captain in the summer. He had income from a rental, but didn’t work a steady job. He didn’t care much about their children. His son has a rocky relationship with him. Sometimes it is the luck of the draw with the attorney and judge you get. It often works both ways, although generally it favors the woman. My theory is, you want the divorce you pay the attorney fees. If you are able bodied, no one pays spousal support. You have joint custody, no one pays child support. But if there is a non-custodial parent that one pays. No hiding funds under a private business. You don’t pay, your car, house, bank account is taken by the court and doled out to the custodial parent for child support. Your driver’s license and passport are flagged so if you try to make any major purchase the courts know. I totally agree, the court system is unfair and there are dead beat fathers and mothers out there.
