Probably satisfaction from justice. But never peace, because of what that monster did to her daughter. Just horrific. There are some criminals who cannot be rehabilitated.

No, she didn't. If I remember correctly, she left the country after prison, went to India (?) and returned several years later. She died of cancer at a rather young age.
