Hope this heralds The Storm. I was in central London a couple of days ago and was dismayed to find every place I went to was cashless. A pedestrian crossing green light with male and female signs made me chortle, beyond absurd. God help us.
They like to say they are cashless but if your card "doesn't work" or you "left it at home" then they are pretty quick to take your cash alright.
Not sure what you mean about the male and female pedestrian crossing lights. We have several types of crossing and the most common one (Pelican) has a stick figure of indistinct gender which lights up green or red. We do have other less common types (Toucan, Puffin, et al) which maybe they do have male and female I am not sure. The stupid names are because the original PEdestrian LIght CONtrolled crossing was shortened to "Pelicon" then some genius decided to assign bird names for later ones.
I have seen male and female crossing signs in the USA though - a yellow sign with black legend showing a boy and a girl, each carrying a small square. I assumed it was a "school students crossing" or some such.
I'm in the south east but didn't hear the Mega Thunderbolt. I was in Turkey (or Türkiye as they now insist people call it, thanks to Americans using the word turkey colloquially as a negative epithet) earlier this year during one of their EU wargames and we saw quite a few F-16s and other miltary stuff. Sitting on the beach one day waiting for rain to stop and suddenly the most amazing bang and we almost crapped ourselves, assuming some kind of missile. But no, just thunder, and the locals thought nothing of it. Showed me though that thunder certainly does come in different grades.

I wonder how the none binaries know when to cross🤔
Exactly! Talk about discrimination.
