Any lawfags here who can answer this question? I have never understood NDAs or gag orders. How is it legal for anybody, even a judge, to prohibit a citizen from speaking about their situation? Could you please explain? For instance, I've heard of cases where big company X is sued by Y. Y wins the case, but is issued a gag order and can't speak about what happened (to protect X.) I don't see how that's legal. Please explain. Thanks.
Exactly, and that's why I was hoping an attorney would chime in here. I don't see how it's constitutional. Of course, crooked judges might try to impose them, but if citizens know and understand their rights, they can tell the dude to pound sand. I just don't see how it could be constitutional to gag someone like that. Thanks, fren.
NDA's are agreements that people sign that say they will not speak about a particular subject for a specified length of time. "Non-Disclosure AGREEMENT." Gag orders are less clear.

This man needs a bulldozer... some sheet steel... welding lessons... and a map of DC.
Have a lot of respect for this man!
