You and me both. It's a convenient cop-out that people use for inconvenient occurrences.

It's just as easy to use it to dismiss the things people want to be true.

One could say that the "Look to Twitter....My Fellow Americans" post is false due to the "disinformation is necessary" escape clause...

I doubt that would go over well, but is just as likely of being disinformation as anything else.
