Blood clots are easily treatable if you catch them in time. Then it’s blood thinners and you try not to cut yourself.
The problem, as explained in Died Suddenly, is that is isn’t the blood that is clotting. It’s the fiberous strands that are growing in the arteries, and eventually blocking blood flow. They’re being referred to as “clots” because technically when an artery is blocked it’s called a clot. Maybe we need new terminology for a clot that isn’t a blood clot, but is a bizarre, new form of fiberous clot.
Mine were just good old-fashioned ones and one TPA drip later they were dissolved. Now it’s blood thinners and broccoli every day to keep the clots away.
