It was still the government of the country. The west doesn't get to claim it fights against authoritarianism when it supports a coupe that ousted the duly elected government of Ukraine and installed their own puppet there.
Yes, but Yanukovich was democratically elected. So the people apparently wanted a Russian-friendly president. And why would they not? I mean Russia is right there, next door. One would be stupid to cut off all relations. But no, these supposed 'nationalists' wanted USA from across the Atlantic to be their 'friends', even though they were a loud minority. NVM just throw out the established democracy, and implement Nuland's 'democracy' via a coup. I believe that that coup was really the start of the war. In that respect the promise that Ukraine would be allowed into NATO could be seen as the root of the problem, and that happened in the early 2000s.
And do tell, why were the Minsk agreements not implemented? They were a contract, brokered by Merkel, to allow the Donbass some autonomy, and would have kept the peace. But no, the Poroshenko regime decided to ignore those, and use the time to start building a vast trench system around the Donbass and shell the civilians. Not provocative at all.
Also, Zelensky cannot now claim Crimea, because he ordered that their water be shut off. He implemented it, and mocked the lack of water, and rail connection, to Crimea on public TV, to punish those who voted to join Russia. Yeah, nah. You ain't gettin that back buddy.
So, it looks like this war won't end in a hurry, while (((he))) is there, demanding that Crimea be 'returned' - against the will of the people living there. Why would they want (((him))) as president? As far as they are concerned he is a petty, but dangerous tyrant. And anyway, Russia built a beautiful bridge and now life is good. Sure, there are some who are fretting over their relations living in Ukraine, but there is water, food and business as usual.
Soon, there will be no people to rule in Ukraine anymore, because they will all be refugees elsewhere.
The war will end when all ancestral Russian lands will be back in Russian hand, erasing 100+ years of bolshevik theft. Whatever then remains of 'ukraine' (a fake country if there ever was one, I mean even its name translates to 'border lands') will be split amongst the remaining neighbors, who also have claims to those areas.
Maybe a tiny khazarian zoo will be left in the center, populated by Ze & others like him, just for visitors to marvel at the stupidity of chosenites.
...and just where did the pallets of gold end up that were air lifted out
gud kwestion
