This read like a fluff piece for people with disabilities. Wonder what the expertise the ladies bring to the table? Kinda hard to know how they fit into the picture when eighty percent of the article was about the guy with a missing leg. I'm so glad space agencies are being inclusive with all sorts of people.
My guess is that women bring a lot of biological/life science experience to whatever astrobotic/genetic manipulation research (if any) they might be doing up there (organic chemists, molecular biologists, etc). Seems that women tend to gravitate towards those kinds of hard sciences vs the others ... that's just based on anecdotal evidence though ... years of it though :-) .
