You make good points. Religion has been compromised and corrupted. I prefer to look at the true beginnings of religion, i.e. God, Jesus, The Apostles and Disciples and their original intentions, before corruption and politics entered the message.
There's been a lot of interference with the Catholic Church:
There was a worldwide directive in the 1930s from Communist leadership ordering the infiltration of the Catholic Church. Remarks are attributed to Bella Dodd about 1,100 men being put into the priesthood to destroy “the Church from within.” After some editorializing, Dodd is again attributed as having said that these infiltrators were “right now [working] in the highest places in the Church” and that the Catholic Church would be unrecognizable.
I was raised as a strict atheist. My father would say there is no God, the Bible was written by man and priests are a bunch of parasites. I tried to do good and have good morals because I thought that was the right thing to do. Later I became an agnostic on my own. Then after that I had a life-changing experience which brought me to God. For me, I find spirituality very comforting and gives me hope. Before that I felt I was a carbon being that would return to the soil as carbon. And I had no hope. Things would just be the way they would turn out.
My mom, sister and brother are all atheists. I'm sure they think I'm crazy. I used to think religious people were crazy too. I have been an atheist and a believer. I know how both points of view feel. At this point, I choose God.
WE ALL BELIEVE IN MAGA! ;) Take care, Fren
People say they are atheists because they don't have an inner vision of a being ..usually based on their father or father figure of god...
I cannot really think that a being called god could live for millions of years but then its like an individual cell inside me trying to visualise me..the being that the individual cells lives in moves and has its being. An individual cell we know has consciousness and cooperates with other cells to build an eye etc.
We don't have the capacity to envisage anything remotely of the imagination needed so I don't try.
I do see lots of evidence for reincarnation ..even the early fathers of the new religion they made about a man who was never intending to start a religion but change his own talked about that but again religion got rid of such things that would make them lose control...a man won't kill someone when he knows it will impact on his next life and karma. If everyone realised we come back..we wouldn't have countries where children starved to death during the famines..you could be that child....pedophilia would end overnight...
What got me was finding people who had no empathy no intuition no spiritual insight....and then people who understood more than you could learn in a lifetime ..they say what you learn in wisdom you take with you to your next life but just the essence ..not the experiences you go through to get it..although some seem to..particularly violent death etc
Th earliest religions were astrotheology where we told stories of the planets and the sun...with the sun seemingly dying for three days at Easter time....
Interesting.....
