"Dumb phones" are becoming popular with millinials and gen-Zers who don't appreciate the crap world they were born into. They were raised (most of them) on the internet and they just want to live life with nature and each other. Real relationships, not online "friends." Digging in to things with their hands, not holding a device all day.
I know several such personally. It's refreshing to see.
For the first 50 years of my life the phone hung on the kitchen wall. Had a cordless phone for a while but threw the thing away because I wasn't about to tote it around the house so it was useless to me. I wouldn't have a cell phone now if it weren't for my kids insisting on it. It stays in my truck and I never take it out even when I go into a store or restaurant. I also never call out on it which means it may get used once every 2 weeks at most when one of the kids or grandkids calls while I'm in my truck. If I don't see their name on it I don't answer it. To me a cell phone is an absolute waste of money and time.
