I’m from USA. That’s a good point. I thought the one I was speaking of was from USA but I could be wrong. It is true that not all countries are regulated the same way (if at all) in terms of funeral rule. It’s also possible those folks do get to see medical records other than cause of death.
Even if you were in another country keeping parts of the body without permission would be wrong though. For example, someone could say, well if he’s keeping clots, who’s to say he isn’t keeping gold teeth (not that any embalmer/director/undertaker would waste their time with that since the amount of gold in teeth isn’t worth the trouble - I try to explain this to families who want them back) but I’m just thinking in terms of what the opposition would use against us in terms of discrediting his observations. It certainly didn’t sit well with me.
