Exactly what was going on in late 2019 in China ; got memory holed big time.

The whole country basically was protesting, people weren't going to work and their economy was taking a hit because of it. They were protesting the government. All of a sudden, this flu like bug starts going around. All of a sudden, China is in lock down.

I believe that was Hong Kong, which had only recently been "returned" to China.
