Anyone who was born in a hospital and had the metabolic screen has had their DNA archived. When I asked the doctor while in the hospital after delivering our third if she has people turn it down she said no, absolutely not, it’s very rare. She said she’s known of a few people who’ve turned it down because they “don’t trust the government.” I raised my hand. She then said that we should consider home births if we plan on having more children.
Well you educated me. I adopted my 39 yo kid when she was 5 weeks old so I never thought about that or had to deal with it except when I was a newborn myself in the early 1950/s.
The things they screen for are ridiculous, but like with vaccines, the medical world make it seem like a huge percentage of the population are at risk. They collect the blood on little cards, I just picture file cabinets upon file cabinets of DNA in my mind.

Is that the test where they take blood from the baby’s foot?
Yea, it is.

Same would be true of anyone who has donated blood or ever had a blood test!
