I went to a doctor to try to get a note exempting me from the clot shot so I could not be fired from my job (I was).

I spoke to a younger doctor who said nobody in this country (not the US) should be forced to get the vaccine and that he can help me. I thought, hey that sure was easy... this is awesome... oh... but.... before I can write the note I have to run it by my boss so he can approve it, but I don't think it should be any trouble, please come back later when he's here.

So I do, and I'm shown to the boss doctor who says he had the AstraZenica vaccine which is the worst one and killed the most people (these doctors were not at all arguing with me when I said my reason was that I feared for my own health because people die and have strokes) and he's just fine and he's much older than me. I'm young and healthy and there's no reason why I shouldn't get the shot, and furthermore, if I want to continue to live without the shot I should be locked up in my "company dormitory" (I don't live in one........... he said I'd have to arrange one to continue my existence here) and I'd need to be locked up every day except for work, and tested for covid DAILY before I left each day. He said he knows that's a human rights violation but it doesn't matter because it's necessary to stop covid.

I think he was old and confused, because I do believe what he described happened to people from poorer countries (think of them as legal Mexican immigrants that come over on temp visas to work for a few years and then get shipped back to their countries, but they're very much the underclass here and considered as such by the vast majority of locals), but I'm from the US which doesn't get treated that way. The government literally has two sets of rules for foreigners, and Americans are in the higher class one.

Anyway, the point of all that was to say that it was around that point that I tried to get people to understand my feelings (I literally knew one other person who wasn't gung-ho pro vaccine and scared out of their mind and would do anything they were told) was that life has become just like Invasion of the Body Snatchers (the original of course!)

Love Tarantula and Them! and The Thing From Another World, and all the Universal and Hammer horror movies.... I'm far too young to have seen them when they were new but I spent some time with no access to the internet and had nothing but free movie channels like Turner Classic Movies and AMC to entertain myself for quite a while, and ended up discovering a whole ton of awesome old movies.
