I hear what you're pointing at and understand what you mean.
I'm not speaking to the ability to do works though.
I am speaking to the confidence in our eternal fate.
Whether this court case succeeds or fails - whether the Patriots and the Good Guys succeed or fail, including any works that they do through the power of the Holy Spirit working through them (which I agree and celebrate happening when we see it!)
None of these things have any effect at all on our eternal fate.
That's the Faith in Jesus that I'm speaking to - the Promise and Gift of Jesus' sacrifice for our sins is what Gives us Hope and where we put our Faith (Trust) in - that supersedes anything that happens here on Earth.
As you pointed out though - I totally acknowledge and celebrate seeing the Holy Spirit work through people here on Earth. Tears of joy have been shed on such occasions.
But to let these events determine our hope or dismay is to take our eye off the big picture - the great commission, etc.
