If both poles are magnetized, then why does the compass always choose the north? Seems to me that the needle should point to the pole it’s closest to, yes?
Been watching Starlink set this up for a while. The sats are in a polar orbit and did you know? They would provide starlink to BOTH the north pole and the S. pole

Northern hemisphere here, but yes, that would be correct.... Dipole....
