FACT: George Washington he lost more battles than he won. Although he lost the Battle of Germantown (400 dead, including the entire 9th Virginia Regiment) he won at the Battles of Trenton in 1776 and Yorktown in 1781. That's FIVE YEARS between victories. WE ARE HERE FOR THE LONG HAUL, CUPCAKES! #LFG

My wife DM'd me this post and I was like, really? GW lost more battles than he won?? And why was the last one in 1781, five years AFTER 1776? Lameeee, I didn't know that. I need to get my American History on!
More fun facts, Washington was appointed commander of the Continental Army in 1775, and several battles were fought well before the DoI in 1776... for example, Bunker Hill. Those who truly wanted to understand the timeline, need to look further back into history
