Is there evidence that THC binds to the same receptors that nicotine does; which are the same receptors that covid binds to?
Can't tell if this is a rhetorical question, but yes they bind to the same receptors.
Not at all, I was being serious lol. I thought maybe if the nicotine being binded stops covid from binding then maybe the THC can't bind there either. I figured somebody would know and I'm too lazy to look it up.
The receptor that the coronavirus binds to is called the angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) receptor, while the receptor that nicotine binds to is called the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor. These are two different types of receptors with different functions in the body. The ACE2 receptor is involved in regulating blood pressure and other physiological processes, while the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor is involved in various functions in the brain, including memory, cognition, and mood.
I thought they said nicotine it was the reason smokers weren't getting covid because they binded to the same receptors. Did the science change? I mean you sound pretty sure but, I really thought I had read that.
