Yeah, just like the constitution! We dont need the second amendment because England isnt just going to waltz an army on up in here! Context of the times!
There are dozens of biblical records that allow for self defense. One of my buddies discovered it while researching all the biblical battles ever fought. Israel only lost when they forgot God.
Number one killer is accurate because Jesus Christ himself stated that
"the theif cometh not but for to steal and to kill and to destroy, BUT I am come that they might have life and have it more abundantly".
There is your contrast, Satan the god of this world according to Jesus himself is the bringer of death, the theif. There is no other source for death, and life, well Christ brought life more than abundantly.
“And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.”
Ephesians 4:32 NKJV
““For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”
Matthew 6:14-15 NKJV
Even Christ forgave those who hung on the cross, in the very act, and they probably the most evil and vile people on the planet of that time.
“Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.” And they divided His garments and cast lots.”
Luke 23:34 NKJV
No, where in the Bible does it say that somebody hast to ask for forgiveness, for somebody else to forgive them. Of course somebody can ask for forgiveness if they want to, but forgiveness is not based on someone asking for it. Holding anger, bitterness, resentment, and unforgiveness in your heart, hurt yourself the most.
I recently have forgiven my husband’s mother and father for not calling me to the hospital when he died. I’m 90% sure that they poison him with Etheline glycol. It’s in the toxicology report. But at the time, I was a broken individual and had no way to prove it. It took me 10 years… But I finally forgave them for everything. Now it’s between them, and the Lord what they did, and how they live with that for the rest of their lives. I’ve let it go, and it’s one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself. Feels good man. 🐸🙏
Turn the other cheek is about insults. It's an orientalism rooted in the middle and far east.
Yes I recall someone on 4chan saying you have to take in context of those times and Romans. It was trolling your enemy type of concept.
Absolutely

I think it’s appropriate to only forgive if your offender asks you to forgive
They must apologize.
That’s not what the Bible says
Nope. You forgive anyway….and as many times as is necessary.

Perfectly said. I'm sick of people on here trash-talking "turn the other cheek" because they think it means we advocate permitting evil.
Wrong. We can act, we can stop evil, but I'll give the following quote:
"We fight not because we hate what is in front of us, but because we love what is behind us."
