Wouldnt Russia check what this person has in the pants at the first opportunity?

Russia is not the type to play along with identifying games.

So why would Russia seem to agree this athlete is female?

They announced that they were going to do tests to determine biology and where to place him. Then we heard nothing about it ever again.

My guess is that the Biden admin scrambled to conceal that Griner is a man and they negotiated a shitty prisoner trade with the condition that they drop any mention of it.
