It occurs to me that I made a poor choice of words in my comment. By "changed the algorithm" I did not mean to imply that God is responding in some way inconsistent with His own nature, goodness, and wisdom. Righteousness and justice are the very foundation of His throne, but we don't often see it because He dispenses it at His own appointed times. It's like waiting for a court date, so it would be more accurate to say that these malefactors have come to their appointed time to receive justice. They have been destroying themselves because mercy has been lifted, and there is no more grace to give them time to come to a godly decision. They failed to negotiate on the way to court, and the judge will find them in whatever state they have chosen to live.
It doesn't matter anymore what "they" do. God has changed the algorithm and nothing they did successfully before will work for them.
I have learned to sit back and watch them destroy themselves.
