It is getting ridiculous. :(
Well stated and I agree. There is a narrative here and those that are not rah-rah with that narrative are attacked into silence, or worse yet, causing them to leave altogether. I worry that this internal censorship is having a deleterious effect on what was intended to be intelligent dialog based upon critical analysis and exchange of ideas in order to make sense out of the world and attempt to map out strategies for our future. The discussions here at times are no different than those that occur in the broader culture - thin skinned, shallow, and at times, meanspirited. This dog is about ready to run away, but I continue to stay in order to lend my expertise where I can contribute for the benefit of all. Part of me refuses to allow the naysayers to run me off. Good day fren and thanks for your thoughts.
Very wise words fren. Our words and actions empower what takes place in this reality with either positive consequence or with negative consequence. Nothing occurs without something that follows. Few understand the true ramifications of their individual pebble in the pond.
The influx of newbies into this forum, and some older immature types, are a blessing and a curse at the same time. We welcome them to add to our numbers. But, often they chime in on matters that they are woefully ill-equipped to comment on in an intelligent manner. They default to what they know and that can have a negative impact on discussion and predictably a discussion can often devolve into juvenile poo slinging.
I try to tolerate to some extent knowing that they are still in the process of awakening from years of indoctrination and slumber. They simply just do not know any better because they were never taught. They are not used to thinking critically, and like a small child learning to walk, they stumble and fall on their keesters. There is a process to growth and some of us further along in the process can get very frustrated at those that lag behind.
We are dealing with all levels of growth here - some are infants, toddlers, tweeners, and the dreaded teenager inflated with their own sense of importance that is not afraid to express it and does so with no thought of sounding foolish. What I see in this post is the frustration of some of the adults in the room dealing with the rest of the family. I just pray that the youngsters take the time to actually read the comments in this post and take them to heart. Thank you for your reply.
Preach on brother/sister.
