Objectively, I think Trump is right.
Superman as an archetype is based on heroes of the past, like Hercules (Roman) or Herakles (Ancient Greek), for example. There are some others, like Orpheus, for going into the underworld (The ice) and the archetype is based on the perfected man, in this case, perfected physically.
The reason the stories from these ancient times have resonated through the ages, is because people need to have an image like that in their minds.
Getting rid of that is a very juicy goal for blue-hairs, because their aim is to destroy society. Of course, the idea is not going away, so putting a colooured, laasbian stronk waaman in his place is simply NOT going to work.
There are some women in the myths, like Diana, who was beautiful, virginal but also lethal, so that men 'hunting' her met their demise, or Venus, who is a perfect and fertile woman, rising from the foam. Maybe they are tired of that sort of symbolism?
Interesting how all the "heroes of old" were either hybrids, the offspring of non-human gods and humans, or the non-human gods themselves (ie Zeus).
There's been a huge push on the transhumanist front over the last few decades...
