I was being facetious because your initial response to my comment was pretty dismissive and assumed I was objecting, when all I was doing was pointing out something obvious that is non-trivial to solve for many people.
If you have a proper trade, then sure going self-employed etc. is an option, but the vast majority of people just have 'jobs' - I don't see how someone working in a shop (for example) can go self-employed.
