Depends on how concentrated it is. If it’s widely distributed over the world. It’ll hurt. Badly. But not to the point that it’ll collapse society. At least in the majority of the world.

If it’s concentrated in one area. Say the West. Yeah that’ll likely do the job of pushing a fair bit of the world over the edge. From the cascading economic effects alone
