N-95 Protection Lie Gets Debunked as Study Finds Them No More Effective Than Surgical Masks
"Similarly, a Danish study of 6000 showed there's no difference between a surgical mask and not wearing a mask," reported Dr. Peterson Pierre.
"And please, please, please — stop masking your kids. It's harmful to them. It is better to teach them to make decisions based on logic and not make decisions based on fear."

Of course read the article and draw your own conclusions but the author does say this
My thoughts Although this trial has been circulated as ‘proving’ that N95s are ineffective, that clearly isn’t the case. It also doesn’t prove that N95s are effective. Honestly, due to some fatal flaws, I am not sure the study tells us much at all. (We can see that the effect size of occasional N95 usage is going to be small, but I think that was pretty obvious before this publication.)
They study is to test if surgical masks are inferior to n95 mask. It proved that there wasnt a statistically significant difference.
Since we know cloth mask dont work one caj draw and accurate conclusion that all masks are useless.
From the study we can say that there wasn’t a statistical difference in people who wear their mask 80-90% of the time.
Would that difference exist if people wore their masks 100% of the time they were with patients? There’s also the aspect that the people in this study potentially got covid outside of work which kinda negates the whole thing.
Do n95 masks filter particles as small as viruses? If so, then one could assume that with proper fit, and constant use they would prevent viruses from getting to you.
I’d have to look at the data sheet but I’d be skeptical that they can even filter particles that small, if they can’t then one can assume they’d have similar effectiveness as surgical masks.
Just my 2 cents
All i cant say is ive done drywall work with 95s and still got gypsum up my nose and in my mouth.
Real world evidence, experienced first hand, tell me all i need to know.
Yeah I’ve been there. It’s hard to get a good seal. Any facial hair even stubble will allow some air in around the edges. Presumably some peoples face shape just aren’t a great fit as well.
I grow a beard in the winter so I save any work around the house that requires a respirator for the summer
