Of course there is always more when it comes to the medical field. One thing that has surprised me is that there are a group of Australian Drs that run a group called low carb down under. One of the Drs had their license threatened for using low carb to treat diabetes. Insulin resistance is a top killer around the world. Your Dr will tell you to continue eating carbs deathly advice. You continue declining until you either die or get stuck in a nursing home.
Yeah, I think Drs still think the food pyramid is healthy advice. I've done very low carb off and on for a long time and I can tell you everything feels better when I'm low carb. All gastro problems go away and I have more energy. Every time I go off the low carb my blood pressure goes up too.
Yep, and I think it has done a lot of damage to those of us who were forced to follow it for school lunches, or whose well-meaning Moms thought it was scientifically derived. Even now, when we know it is bunk, our metabolisms are permanently slowed from being subjected to it during our formative years. I never had any kind of weight problem until 6th grade, which is coincidentally when the food pyramid came out, and ever since, I have struggled to keep a healthy weight, even though I have mostly cut out carbs since college. Same with my sister.

It's even worse than not being beneficial. The food pyramid if followed would cause diabetes, organ failure, and heart failure.
