He was a Sailor. Naval officer and he never was in combat despite the I love me photo with a weapon.

Oh c'mon, EVERYBODY gets at least ONE of those Photos....

I probably have a couple Rolls of them with my Army buddies and Squads and all sorts of Infantry stuff....

Hell, I was in one of the Stars and Stripes Army Newsthingys in 1986 for being on patrol on the Korean DMZ, not that anyone could tell with all the Cammo....
