Exactly...who gave him the money? Tesla would collapse in days without the government subsidies he gets..ditto space X etc ..and all his other enterprises
I don't have any argument about the claim against Tesla, since the whole EV business is pushed and subsidized by the government. I don't know much about "all his other enterprises." But having been in the industry for a long time, I know something about Space X and I think it is a serious mistake to say that it is "subsidized." Space launch is a for-profit business where the vendor collects upon the satisfaction of a performance contract. It is honest money, subject to strong competition...and Space X underbids the competition. So, there is no subsidy for Space X. Just a point to bear in mind.

You didn't pay attention. It is a fee-for-service contract and Musk is paid by his customers. Who is a big customer? The U.S. government in the form of DoD and NASA. (You missed this point.) They make contract payments for service tendered. Straight money. Just because the honest paycheck comes from the government, does not mean it is a "subsidy."
Otherwise you are claiming that anyone who sells anything to the government is ipso facto receiving a subsidy, which is perfectly absurd...and effectively destroys the meaning of subsidy, which is to receive payment for no goods or services provided.
