His absence or presence has no relevance to when and if the Russians overrun Ukraine. His handlers are doubtless keeping loved ones as hostages at gunpoint.
Yes but the Russians literally don’t have the capability or capacity to decisively defeat Ukraine at this point anyways. At least until NATO weapons dry up.
You are imbibing Ukrainian/Western propaganda. The Ukrainian army is a hollow shell, being sustained only by foreign mercenaries, required to operate the fancy new weapons. The Russians have mobilized 540,000 to 600,000 troops according to Col. Douglas MacGregor, with maybe more to come, and they do not lack for equipment or ammunition. "The Russians are running out of missiles" may have been hopeful months ago, but now it is dry irony as the Russians knock out Ukrainian electricity and keep it knocked out. The European West has been bled dry; they can offer no more military aid. The U.S. is the only money pot left and Zelensky must cravenly appease his curators. And the Russians are making sure that the NATO weapons "dry up," by taking every early opportunity to destroy them with pinpoint artillery fire when they appear in the field.
You are seriously over estimating Russian capabilities. Those conscripts are largely not combat capable.
Why else are they consistently retreating? Strategic bombing of critical infrastructure only works if you actually follow it up with progress on the ground. This is borne out in history time and again.
I mean presumably he’s going to get more money for the defensive efforts so it would make sense theoretically.
It’s not like the Russians have the capability to overrun the country in his absence

That's the MSM narrative.
It’s also the reality. The Russian military has suffered serious losses of some of its most capable units.
