They've already started 'brining' our roads. I live in Western Kentucky. Tomorrow evening it should start with very cold rain, then sleet and ice and anywhere from 2 to 4 inches of snow. Flash Freezing causing the roads to ice over quickly. Possibility of power lines coming down leaving people without any way of heat. North and East of me in Kentucky will get anywhere from 4 to 6 inches of snow and much more freezing rain and ice. I have lived through 3 ice storms and with the Good Lord by my side, I will live through another. Take care and stay warm.
I’ve got a son in Bowling Green. He thinks it’s going to be a piece of cake. Planning to come here (NC) day after Christmas. I’m hoping he makes the TN valley. That’s usually bad to travel through in winter
Right. I pray he has a safe trip. After I get home today, I am not going anywhere. Already have the snow shovel and the rock salt on the side; ready and waiting.
Brining, lol.
That's what they call it, a liquid salt solution.
I know Mary, but why not just call it salt like the rest of the country.
Because that's what our county calls it on the radio. They will say, "The trucks are out brining the roads." So I say 'brine.' Yesterday they brined and followed with 'salt' trucks. Don't ask me why; as I have no idea.
