I know Mary, but why not just call it salt like the rest of the country.
Because that's what our county calls it on the radio. They will say, "The trucks are out brining the roads." So I say 'brine.' Yesterday they brined and followed with 'salt' trucks. Don't ask me why; as I have no idea.
Interesting. Up here in the north that phrase is not used. Learn something new everyday.
