Throwing this out before I read any of the replies, to see how many others mention it. (Especially now that Musk has become such an influential voice)
All of this actually IS a computer simulation run by more advanced beings.
We are not real. This actually IS the Matrix.
Glitches in life (extraordinary "coincidences") are simply processing errors.
