"Why do you purposely live a hard life without convenience" says my relatives who find me eccentric. Well, my house stayed a warm 72 while it was -20 windchill, I can cook anything I want on my woodstove, I have all the lamps candles and batteries anyone would need, my clothes are not new or trendy but they are warm and durable, and, I stay put when there is a storm coming. Sure, a condo with all the conveniences might make an older person feel better, but I will stay right here and drag my bone on bone backside down cellar to add some more hardwood to the stove while you all wait for the infrastructure to save you and turn your heat back on.
