Not throwing shade on this by any means, but the drying up of the Euphrates has been happening for over 50 years of secular battles for control of people, property and water.

It doesn't say the drying up of the Euphrates is instantaneous. The pouring out of the vial by the sixth angel in Rev 16 is a process, not a bam it happens event, this goes for all of them.
