Cincinnati, OH. Apartment complex is split in two halves (firewall in between).
One half is normal. Other half is 40-50 degrees.
Started Friday morning, thermostat at 70, temperature at 65. By noon it drifted down to 60.
Come to find out entire side of the building was like this. Was even very noticeable walking the hallways that half the building was exceptionally cold, half was normal.
Apartment manager was very specific that the furnaces are not broken. Tried to say they ‘weren’t keeping up.’ However I know how little they run to keep me warm on a normal cold day. Just because it was zero outside in no way would make the furnace only able to maintain 45 degrees. He also kept dodging my questions, giving corporate responses. Talked like a CIA trained drone/politician.
The only answer is curtailing, Whether by the apartment complex or by the electric utility.
Wanted to see if anyone else had issues?
This was interesting here in TN. Rolling blackouts within days of democrats being named to the board of the TVA, a federal power facility. Why is power federalized? In the mean time, this is a green energy push.

Thanks. Hadn’t heard this. Yep our local Tva powered cooperative was rolling blackouts Friday and yesterday.
YW. Pisses me off.
It was better today, how about for you? We live in Maryville, kind of south of Knoxville and in the Foothills of the Smoky Mtns. It's warmer today, now we have snow and bad roads.
Yes we only had our power cut off the first two days. We were warmer too and got more snow so the roads refroze after dark so lots of accidents. Should melt more today and tomorrow. We are actually headed to pigeon forge on Thursday. Thankfully the forecast is warmer for the next few days. Blackhawk is doing a free outdoor concert on New Year’s Eve at The Island. We are buddies with a couple of the band members so we are pretty stoked to be going. Just hoping it won’t rain. :)
In Maryland, Constellation Energy, had smart meters outfitted in every home, business, apartment complex, etc. If the business or homeowner did not want the smart meter they-the customer-had to pay a certain sum every month to not have one. How nice of them to charge us for something we did not want. With it they can control your entire house, from what I gather. And they can monitor your electric use however they want to, I think. They know when you are doing laundry, cooking, etc. Just saying...
I'm opting out but they were pestering me as I'm probably the only one in the neighborhood who won't allow them access. I'm afraid they'll just install when I'm not home. It's 100 bucks flat fee up front then 40 a month not to have one. The 100 is for the new non smart meter. Why do I need a different non smart meter and do those have some way of transmitting too? I don't trust these bastards one cm.
If the electric co blips off the power just momentarily it turns off all the modern style space heaters, and they then need to be reset.
That’s a good little nugget. The normies don’t understand there are so many ways they can manipulate
What I have not seen anywhere else, is doesn’t it seem a little too coincidental to have a sudden extreme cold snap, (preceded by rain leading to ice) paired with high wind, paired with inches of snow, coincided perfectly with when people would have started their drives for Christmas travel?
Surely this community is aware of the ample documentation and audio of officials discussing weather manipulation programs.
Additional, the concept itself is simple physics/chemistry
It confuses me how so many people who even understand 9/11 and such suddenly cringe at the thought of weather manipulation. With a little knowledge of science, it quickly becomes the simplest of all ‘conspiracies’
The only real conclusion is, knowing it is pretty simple to pull off, how could they not?
Then think about those 20 tornadoes that hit a city in Ohio all at once like 3 years ago. Natural?
Hurricane Katrina… should did suck all the energy out of other political topics. Natural?
C’mon man 😁
I think you’re probably right. Your electric company probably has the ability to cycle your HVAC system. Somehow it’s hitting your side of the complex disproportionately.
I have been receiving emails and texts from my electric company asking us to voluntarily cutback. Over the past few years they’ve been bragging about solar investments and retiring a coal plant.
Now that damn near everyone has a "smart meter" installed, my dystopian guess is they're going to start using "targeted blackouts". Maybe in your neighborhood there are 300 houses and say the meter is reporting that 90 are using "too much" electricity, they get a text from the power company saying some shit like "hey, we noticed you're using xxx kilowatts, please reduce your use by turning off lights, turning down your thermostat, or not run major appliances like dishwashers or oven in order to reduce your power consumption and avoid temporary power loss." Then after an hour if you don't comply they shut off your power for say 3hrs.
I got this text message this morning: "PJM, the regional grid operator that includes PECO, has asked for consumers to look for ways to safely conserve electricity until 10 a.m. tomorrow. If your health permits, please consider reducing the use of your electricity."
Literally have never gotten such a message or heard of such thing until now. Something fucky is going on.
My son in northern Indiana is reporting the same kinda thing....
The interesting thing is we all pay our electric individually. But this is a very large relatively new apartment complex. The type that surely is owned but some private equity thieves.
With how squirrel the managers answers were, I’d say they know about the agreement but know the residents would freak if they found out
Update: this morning I walked back to my half of the building. Crossing the halfway firewall, it was noticeably warmer than the last 2 days
Entered my apartment and was 50 degrees instead of the 38 it had been sitting at
This is with my furnace deactivated (of course they haven’t came back to turn mine back on). So just residual heat from the surrounding apartments I am running at 50 degrees despite still being only 17 degrees outside
Which tells me everyone’s furnace is fully operating now
This is obvious curtailing but no one wants to admit it
I need to move
