"Coincidence" is the noun and coincident is the adjective, meaning you can't say "what a coincident" because that would be an adjective where a noun belongs. So Numina23 has a valid point.
It comes down to US and UK usage. As George Bernard Shaw once said: 'England and America are two countries divided by a common language'.
