John 19: 26-27 "When Jesus therefore saw His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing by, He said to His mother, “Woman, behold your son!” Then He said to the disciple, “Behold your mother!” And from that hour that disciple took her to his own home."
Wow you are SOOOO spot on! I hardly EVER come across people with this informed and consistent mindset. It has to become an unthinkable path, just not even on the table, because this is a unique human life. I'm a single mom, he's 27 now, and this conviction is what was my rock in the first days of fear and worry about the future. It wasn't ever even a "decision" for me, it was a given to carry this precious life. He is the greatest gift God ever placed in my hands, my joy and the deep fulfillment of my life. Thank you for your post.
It results in the destruction of scores of embryos, each a unique and precious human being. It makes children a commodity. You literally buy your child from the lab that creates him or her. That's why there are thousands and thousands frozen now, waiting to be "implanted". But most never are. What a horrifying and tragic situation. The end does not justify the means.
Then there is St. Paul in 1 Corinthians 3:21-23 "All things are yours, whether it be Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or the present, or the future; all these are yours, and you are Christ's and Christ is God's."
Mother Miriam is awesome and catches flak from the powers that be in the corrupt circles of the Church. Another awesome one is Sr. Dierdre "Dede" Byrne, retired US Army colonel and Medical doctor/surgeon. Amazons of religious women.
An ordinary human could never make amends for sin to God who is infinite. The offense is literally, infinite. ONLY God could make amends. So the Son of God, Second Person of the Most Blessed Trinity, was sent by His Father to earth as the God-Man Jesus Christ (truly God and truly man) to offer Himself in place of every member of the sinful human race, unable to help itself. This "solution" was foretold even in the first book of the Bible, after the sin of Adam and Eve, and Christ's death was spoken of by the prophets in detail, especially in the writings of Isaiah about the Suffering Servant. God pursued sinful humanity through the ages which culminated in the gift of His Son. He is still offering us His love and mercy and a call to turn from sin and accept the salvation His Son has won for each of us.
Thank you for your brave service, fren!
