Sometimes the dirt is for the stupidest shit too, but that's just to get the foot in the door. They can start off so concerned with "oh, shit they saw me with my gay lover" and then given an ultimatum to do something worse, (e.g. child related stuff of their choosing) or be killed and have their secrets exposed, and suddenly they're stuck hook, line and sinker.
