No the 33 comes from when their 'god', Gabriel was banished to earth ; 1/3 of the angels in heaven sided with / came down with Gabriel. Kind of gives a little credit of the ancient people and the Nephilim.

God did not want humans to have free will. Gabriel ( God's right hand man ) did not agree with that, and 1/3 of the angels in heaven sided with Gabriel. Now, I believe, there was either a war or uprising that God lost and Gabriel won the rights for humans to have free will, but as punishment for going against God, Gabriel and his alliances were banished to Earth.

Gabriel = lucifer, the devil. Earth is actually Hell.

This is why the hand symbols of covering one eye and looking through the 'OK' hand sign = direct mirrors of words used in the bible about your 'right eye to God'.
