This is so different from Hank Gathers, Loyola Marymount All American basketball player who collapsed and died in 1990. He died of a heart anomaly as a result of a birth defect. Nobody thought it could happen to them.
Scott Van Pelt is fighting back tears as he reports. They say it's about Damar Hamlin. It is, but it's way bigger than that. Who will be the first to speak the truth?
This is history happening. God bless this man.
Edit: first report on his condition is CRITICAL
I will tell you what I noticed last night: Appeal to Emotion and NOTHING at all to do with discussion of WHY or HOW this could have happened.
I listened on the radio as I drove. ALL I heard was one person after another talking about how they FEEL about the situation or asking someone else how they FELT when it happened, or the football players who were CRYING on the field.
Not one person, in over 2 hours of listening, EVER said or asked about WHAT could have caused this problem. NOT ONE PERSON.
The ONLY thing I heard was appeal to emotion -- and that was from the DUDES.
Pathetic display of failure to act with clear-headed leadership in the face of a difficult situation. They ALL crumbled into a crying mess of emotion.
Imagine these motherfuckers in a foxhole when the shit hits the fan. Need to keep a box of Tampons handy.
