UPDATE 12:15 p.m. ET:
Donald Trump Jr. is getting even more aggressive in calling out McCarthy critics, specifically Boebert, Gaetz, and Perry:
We all want House leadership to be as conservative as possible, but I'm not okay with throwing House Leadership to Dems & Never Trumpers. Being fine with Hakeem Jeffries becoming Speaker simply out of spite for McCarthy isn't what any Republican voted for in November.
Disaster. https://t.co/B1UowXqeA8

UPDATE 12:12 p.m. ET:
It's great that Gaetz, Boebert and Perry are making their point, but eventually they'll need to come to grips with the reality of the situation and accept the best concessions they can get from McCarthy and support him. It'd be different if somebody like Jim Jordan ran and presented an alternative, but a democrat becoming Speaker is the alternative. Standing firm and allowing Jeffries to become Speaker would be the ultimate in incompetence.
This republican Congress is ultimately a lame duck anyway. They won't be able to legislate and McConnell has just shown he's not interested in using republican leverage in the House to act as a roadblock. All they can do is hold hearings and conduct investigations that will yield no results. Their role is basically to shine a light on corruption to facilitate more mass awakening.
