They're hunting these whale looking things and when they kill them, they drill a hole up into their adrenal gland and fill up this giant vial with that they call liquid gold, which has anti-aging properties and "way way way more than you can get from a human being." (So....they usually get it from human beings?)
It's so valuable they don't even bother with the rest of the whale's body. They just take the adrenochrome and bounce.

There was definitely adrenochrome messaging, 100%.
To me, it looked like they were portraying those who hunted it as evil.
There was a single whale who was ostracized for fighting against them, in the end that whale killed most of the bad guys and was portrayed as a hero.
To me, the messaging seemed to be anti-cabal and pro-people who want to kill the cabal.
It still normalizes/desensitizes the whole concept, which is ultimately the problem.
I had that sense as well. I liked the inclusion of strong father figures and the whole family dynamic. I also noticed the inclusion of the phrase "Darkness to light." Really interesting.
