I honestly read about a year ago that an international court had already came to this conclusion regarding Poland annexing western Ukraine to restore pre WW2 borders. I remember talking to a professor about this when the war broke out in March that this was already a brokered deal.
Yeah. Medvedev has brought it up in recent months during a presser and Putin actually brought it up originally back in April or May.
Putin figuratively stated "yeah, Stalin redraw the map after WWII so who would blame Poland if they decided to take actions towards reclaiming lost territory".
The statement was a bit tounge-in-cheek, but like any good Putin blurb, it was designed to cause multiple effects no doubt.
